First aid for mental health services

Simply put, it is a service that allows those trained to spot signs of mental distress, listen to those who need support, without making judgement and signpost to qualified services and doctors to aid them to get past the distress.

1. Level 1 - Awareness for First aid Mental Health.

This is a 4 hour course which gives people an understanding if First Aid for Mental Health. Which includes a short exam on how to support someone and possible signs and symptoms. This will give a UK Ofqual regulated Level 1 certificate, issued by First Aid Awards UK. This is valid for 3 years providing a refresher course is done yearly.

2. Level 2 - First Aid for Adult Mental Health.

This is an 8 hour course which delves deeper into mental health conditions, how to talk to those you are supporting using non-judgmental techniques and signposting to where to get support and help (UK and UAE). This will give a UK Ofqual regulated Level 2 certificate, issued by First Aid Awards UK. This is valid for 3 years providing a refresher course is done yearly.

3. Level 2 - First Aid for Youth Mental Health.

As for the Level 2 Adult Mental Health Course, this delves deeper and relates it to supporting Young persons and vulnerable adults. This will give a UK Ofqual regulated Level 2 certificate, issued by First Aid Awards UK. This is valid for 3 years providing a refresher course is done yearly.

4. Level 3 - Supervising First Aid for Mental Health.

This is a 16 hour course, which delves into the main disorders of mental health and supporting those who are within your care holding a level 1 or 2 certificate. This will give a UK Ofqual regulated certificate issues by First Aid Awards UK. This is valid for 3 years providing a refresher course is done yearly.

5. Refresher Course - First Aid for Mental Health.

This is a 3 hour course to brush up on your skills and get support for any questions you may have raised during your time as a mental Health First Aider.

The above courses, 1-4, will need to be completed in their entirety at the end of their 3 years from date of passing.

All Courses will be issued a UK Ofqual Regulated Certificate and for an additional cost, we can provide a KHDA certificate.
